Where's Your Spark?

It's Book Club Kick-off Day at MommyForward.com, and we couldn't be more excited! We have over a dozen moms mingling and reading "Becoming a Mother on Fire" by Lisa Garber. It's not too late to jump in on the journey (click here for details.)

In our online forum, we're asking moms to take a serious look at who they are now versus who they were before marriage and motherhood. We love our families and our "jobs," but our spark can get buried beneath baby wipes, laundry, and carpooling schedules.

Not sure where you stand? Here are some other points to consider:
  1. What are some of your dreams and obstacles? What direction might your life have taken had you not become a mother?
  2. What do you think is your greatest contribution to your children? What is their greatest contribution to your life?
  3. What kind of mother and homemaker could you be if you had no other interests or pursuits? What are you willing to compromise?
  4. Do you already know a mother on fire? What do you admire about her? What does she do differently that you'd like to incorporate in your own life?
Be sure to check out this quiz by Mothers on Fire as well.

Whether we own it or not, moms have great influence on our families, our neighborhoods, our schools and our world. Taking better care of ourselves and letting our lights shine benefits many. I hope you'll take some time to find your spark today.
