Never Say Never - Why I Blog

When blogs first came out, I swore I'd never write one. Why would I want to share my life and my thoughts with total strangers? What would I say? Who would even read it? Then, like many stay-at-home-moms, I had a lot to say and no one to listen.

Sure, blogging serves as an outlet when I take the time to do it. But it's become much more. What started as a way to capture my own transformation as a mommy moving forward in life has become a tool to hopefully teach other moms that self-care is not selfish. My blog is my place to proclaim we can and we should nurture ourselves without neglecting our families.

While the blogosphere gets crowded with its ads, links, comments, reviews, sponsorships, communities, awards, followers, contests, designs, tweets, and traffic, I've discovered it's a great place to parade who I am as an individual with a rich and diverse community who gets me.

Thanks for joining me this week for the blogging challenge sponsored by SITS Girls, Standards of Excellence, Westar, and Florida Builder Appliances. The goal was to get back to blogging, which I hope to do more often.

Amen, sistah! I myself have been swept up in the "social media aspect" of blogging and often have to remind myself of why I started in the first place. I wrote when almost no one read, and I didn't give a rip. Didn't care about my stats, traffic, giveaways, etc. It's easy to get lost in the vastness of the blogosphere. And I completely agree with you, so often moms forget to take care of themselves. It's so important. I stopped by here from the SITS challenge!

Blogging is such a great outlet for us! and THANK goodness for the crowding of tweets, followers and comments! I've meet some of my good friends tweeting and if it weren't for followers or commenting I may have stopped writing online where no one was paying attention and started wriring in a journal!

"...with a rich and diverse community who gets me..."
